Carroll County Times, Dec 21, 2008 Obituaries Mary R. Lewandowski 83, of Westminster Mary Ruth Lewandowski, 83, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born Jan 2, 1925, in Millers, she was the daugh- ter of the late George I. and Flora Fowble Merryman. She was the wife of Edwin J. Lewandowski, her husband of 50 years, who died Oct. 16, 2008. She had worked for Exxon Corp., then as an office manager for Leggett De- partment Store and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed bird-watching. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Lucy and Ronnie Hughs of New Windsor, and Linda and Dean Neuenschwander, of Dalton, Ohio; son and (col-2) daughter-in-law Gerald and Ann Smith, of Pittsburgh; a sister, Elsie M. Miller, of Frederick; 11 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Edwin J. Lewandowski Jr.; sisters Emma Shaeffer and Anna Wagner; and brothers Wal- ter and Harrison Merryman. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Ann Smith officiat- ing, Internment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gar- dens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
